NIAS Workshop ‘Children seen and heard across the globe’
The NIAS workshop ‘Children seen and heard across the globe’ was a great success. Scholars from nine countries and five continents shared their video data of children in a variety of cultural contexts and discussed the images from a multidisciplinary perspective.
The participants all agreed to work on a pilot study involving an observation protocol to be tested in all cultural communities that they have access to. With this pilot study we hope to uncover ways to collect video data on children across the globe in a way that facilitates multidisciplinary analyses and collaborative research projects. The group is currently working on organizing a follow-up workshop in 2016.
